Job summary

The Alaska Department of Law, Civil Division, seeks two experienced litigation attorneys to support the Natural Resources Section and advise statewide programs in land, mining, water, parks, forestry and related matters.

Selected attorneys will handle state and federal court litigation, provide agency advice, and work with diverse clients on complex resource management projects. Flexible schedules and hybrid telework may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience in state court litigation with first-chair responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of general legal principles and state government law.
• Familiarity with land, water, and administrative law is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle state and federal court litigation for state agencies.
• Provide agency advice on legal matters.
• Coordinate with multiple clients and maintain strong working relationships.
• Travel as required to support cases and client programs.
