Job summary

Northern Star Pogo LLC is seeking an HR Specialist to join our Human Resources Team in Fairbanks, AK. You will provide recruitment, onboarding, and HR administrative support to streamline hiring processes and ensure a positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating pre-employment checks, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with Payroll, IT, Security, and managers. A confidential, detail‑oriented approach and solid Microsoft Office skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR administration, onboarding, and document management.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding activities, including pre-employment checks and new hire setup.
• Support recruitment processes: job postings, screening, interview scheduling, and candidate comms.
• Prepare employment agreements and HR correspondence using approved templates.
• Ensure HR documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with policies.
• Maintain ATS, HRIS, and personnel records while protecting sensitive data.
• Coordinate onboarding with Payroll, IT, Security, and department managers.
• Maintain position descriptions, recruitment materials, and onboarding resources.
• Track recruitment metrics and contribute to workforce reporting and audits.
• Audit HR records, resolve discrepancies, and escalate issues as needed.
• Support HR projects, workforce planning, and employee engagement activities.
• Suggest improvements to recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration.
• Perform other HR duties as required for Northern Star – Pogo Mine.
