Job summary

The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, CA is seeking an Ala Carte Server to deliver prompt, polite, and efficient service to members and their guests. You will be assigned to stations or private dining rooms and will take orders while maintaining knowledge of menu items, beverages, and wines.

You will provide a leadership role for other service staff, assist the Dining Room Manager, and ensure guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of fine dining experience; customer service experience is a plus.
• Valid Food Handler Certification and Valid RBS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to service standards per the Food & Beverage Service Manual.
• Maintain knowledge of current menu choices and verify POS charges.
• Support department success by completing tasks for the team or managers.
• Suggest dishes and inform guests about preparation details and dietary needs.
• Work with service staff and bartenders to facilitate food service.
• Work independently with initiative and promote teamwork.
• Communicate guest requests, safety concerns, and personal requests to supervisors.
• Be knowledgeable of Club-related information.
• Adhere to grooming and uniform standards.

Position Summary

Ala Carte Server ensures prompt, polite and efficient service to the members and their guests. They are responsible for assigned stations or private dining rooms. They provide food and beverage service to the satisfaction of all members and guests. Servers will take orders while maintaining knowledge of menu items, food preparation methods, ingredients, beverages and wines available. Provide a leadership role for other service staff. Assist the Dining Room and Banquet Manager as requested or directed.

Essential Duties

1. Adheres to the application of all service standards as outlined in the Food & Beverage Service Manual
2. Maintain level of knowledge of the P.O.S current menu choices, specialties, and menu modifications options and verify accuracy of all charges on POS tickets.
3. Supports the overall success of the department by completing tasks relevant to his/her role at the request of his/her team members or any manager
4. Suggests dishes, assists in food and beverage selection; informing members and their guests about food preparation details and communicates preparation and dietary needs to the chef.
5. Works with other service staff and bartenders in order to facilitate food service and fulfills customer needs during their dining experience.
6. Work independently with great initiative, while also taking advantage and promoting teamwork.
7. Communicates concerns, guests’ requests, safety, and personal requests to supervisors in a timely manner.
8. Is knowledgeable of Club-related information

REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Director, Assistant Food & Beverage Director, and Dining Room Manager

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

PAY RANGE

$23 -$25 Per hour

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum of 1-2 years of fine dining experience; previous customer service experience a plus.

Required Certification(s):

• Valid Food Handler Certification
• Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
