Job summary

ISB in Hollifield, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated early childhood educator to nurture the development of children aged two to five. You will foster learning through engaging lessons, monitor progress, and partner with families and health professionals to support each child's well-being.

You will create a safe, imaginative classroom, implement developmental activities, and maintain records and reports required by administration, while upholding confidentiality and high standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a classroom and guiding young children.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to liaise with parents and professionals, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing lessons/work schemes.
  • Providing a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning.
  • Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order.
  • Organizing and supervising play and work activities.
  • Liaising with parents/guardians and professionals such as speech therapists and health visitors.
  • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and child development specialists.
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development.
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.

Job Purpose:

Nurture and develop the knowledge, abilities and social skills of children between the ages of two and five years and help to prepare them for primary school education.
