Job summary

Galloway Senior Living in Kentucky is hiring an LPN for part-time and full-time roles to support memory care and assisted living residents. The LPN will report to the Assisted Living Manager or Memory Care Manager and provide nursing care in collaboration with physicians and other nurses, administer medications and IVs, monitor vital signs, and help coordinate resident care plans.

Job Title: LPN (part-time and full-time)

Reports to: Assisted Living Manager or Memory Care Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Scope: The nurse is responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. Their duties include communicating with doctors and other Registered Nurses about patient needs, administering IVs and medications to aid their patients’ health and using medical equipment to monitor patients’ vital signs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports the mission, core values and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.

  • Completes all hours of state mandated continuing education each year.

  • Assist in the direction, coordination and evaluation of nursing care services provided to the residents.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
  • Collect patient health history.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans.
  • Implementation nursing services, objections, and standards; resolving resident care issues.
  • Complete resident charting as required.
  • Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for the other treatment options.
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for the patient.
  • Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes.
  • Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in long‑term care preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to follow all established Federal, State and Local rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the English language, sufficient to speak, read and write.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Walk/Stand/Sitting – must be able to continuously perform duties that incorporate walking, standing, or sitting.
  • Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
  • Lift - constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
  • Carry - constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
  • Push - constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
  • Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
  • Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis, may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
  • Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
  • Reach - may occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
  • Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses.
  • Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells, and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
  • Speech/Language – must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret medical and administration information.
