Job summary

The Vered in the United States is seeking a dedicated caregiver to support residents with daily living activities and promote their physical and psycho-social wellbeing. You will build trusted relationships through respectful, person-centered care.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and mobility, participate in life enrichment programs, document changes for nurses, and ensure safety and infection control in all tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
• Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 51 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Participate in housekeeping and laundry to maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents.
• Assist with dining services, including plating, serving, and assisting with feeding when needed.
• Participate in life enrichment activities and accompany residents to programs and events.
• Report and record any changes in resident condition to the nurse on duty.
• Document resident status per community policy and ensure infection control and safety standards.

Safely and effectively provides quality personal care, meets the scheduled and unscheduled needs of the residents and promotes their physical and psycho-social wellbeing by developing relationships built on trust and respect, honoring the life of the individual.

Essential Job Duties (Other duties will be assigned as needed)

Must be willing and able to do the following:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, transferring, ambulation according to their individualized service plans. Participate in service plan meetings for specified residents.


• Participate in housekeeping/laundry tasks to provide a clean and safe environment for residents/staff to work and live in; this may include: bed making; laundry of residents’ personal items, towels and flat linens; maintaining cleanliness of surfaces and floors in individual apartments and common areas.


• Assist with dining services: plating of food in dining room, serving residents, cutting food, assisting with feeding by offering encouragement, cueing, providing hand over hand guidance and/or feeding.


• Participate in life enrichment programming to include gathering of residents; escorts to/from, supervision and leading of programs; and in family and social activities.


• Report and record ANY changes in resident condition (physical, psychological, behavioral, social) to nurse on duty.


• Document resident status per community policy.


• Apply principles of infection control, including standard precautions, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, cleaning and disinfection, respiratory hygiene, waste disposal.


• Monitor resident environment to ensure all safety standards are met or exceeded.


• Participate in the admission of new residents.


• Promptly respond to all pendants, call lights and pull cords ensuring highest level of hospitality and customer service. Anticipate resident needs as much as possible.


• Routinely make rounds of resident care areas to ensure resident wellbeing.


• Provide emergency response within scope of practice


• Follow through with all assignments completely, thoroughly and timely. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure success of community.
