Job summary

Modular Equipment LLC, a Houston-based fabrication company, is seeking a Vessel Fitter to join our team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on fitting, assembling, and welding pressure vessel components per engineering drawings, ensuring precision and quality in a fast-paced shop.

You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and collaborate with welders and pipefitters to meet project deadlines while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vessel Fitter in industrial fabrication.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Familiarity with ASME pressure vessel codes is a plus.
• Proficiency with layout tools, measuring instruments, and hand/power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced shop.
• Able to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Perform layout and fit-up of shells, heads, nozzles, flanges, and attachments.
• Use hand tools, grinders, and measuring instruments to prepare and align components.
• Collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and other team members to meet deadlines.
• Inspect assemblies for dimensional accuracy and compliance with codes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area according to shop standards.

Responsibilities:

• Fit, assemble, and weld (tack) pressure vessel cylinders, tanks, and related structural components per engineering drawings and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate assembly
• Perform layout and fit-up of shells, heads, nozzles, flanges, and structural attachments
• Use hand tools, grinders, and measuring instruments to prepare and align components
• Collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and other fabrication team members to meet project deadlines
• Inspect completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy and compliance with ASME or applicable codes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with shop safety standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Vessel Fitter in an industrial fabrication environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
• Familiarity with ASME pressure vessel codes and fabrication standards is a plus
• Proficiency with layout tools, measuring instruments, and hand/power tools
