Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant interested in transitioning to a Senior Financial Analyst role. This position involves supporting strategic decision-making through comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting. The role requires close collaboration with senior leadership to provide insights that improve operational efficiency and profitability. There is significant opportunity for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): (50%)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for logistics operations.
- Develop financial models supporting strategic initiatives and capital decisions.
- Analyze financial performance trends and KPIs to identify improvement areas.
- Support business units and build relationships with leadership as a subject matter expert.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing actionable recommendations to optimize costs and profitability.
Reporting: (20%)
- Prepare financial reports for management, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Analyze monthly budget vs. actuals and explain variances.
- Compile weekly division forecasts for commercial leaders.
- Present insights and recommendations through reports and presentations.
Accounting & Month-End Close Support: (30%)
- Balance, analyze, and report Gross Profit for various units.
- Prepare payroll and labor variance analysis.
- Create and distribute financial dashboards to leadership.
- Calculate commissions and management incentives for posting.
Qualifications, Skills, and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master’s/MBA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of month-end close experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Business Central) and data visualization platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying complex financial data.
- Ability to collaborate across all management levels with initiative and sound judgment.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
