Delphi-US - Peacemakers In The Talent War is seeking an experienced AIX System Administrator to support enterprise AIX environments. The role is remote with market coverage across Richmond, VA, Dallas, TX, and East Rutherford, NJ, offering hourly contract work and opportunities to lead automation and troubleshooting efforts.

AIX System Administrator | Location: Remote, Richmond, VA; Dallas, TX; East Rutherford, NJ markets | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $75-$85

Join a dynamic team supporting enterprise AIX environments, where your expertise in UNIX system administration will drive operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to lead system maintenance, automation, and troubleshooting efforts within a fast-paced, client-focused setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine AIX administration, including installation, patching, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Fulfill ServiceNow requests involving storage, system configuration, user administration, and operational changes.
• Utilize Ansible Tower to execute automation workflows and troubleshoot automation failures.
• Support AIX lifecycle management, system performance, virtualization, and storage operations.
• Administer AIX components such as LVM, LPARs, PowerVM, HMC, and NIM.
• Follow formal change control and incident management procedures.
• Coordinate system changes with internal teams and external customers, communicating timelines and potential impacts.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual tasks, and proactively resolve recurring issues.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional UNIX system administration experience with strong hands-on AIX expertise.
• Experience with AIX installation, patching, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible Tower, including debugging automation failures.
• Knowledge of AIX LVM, LPARs, PowerVM, HMC, and NIM.
• Experience with formal change control, incident management, and service request workflows.
• Scripting experience with Ansible, Python, or Unix shell.
• Understanding of networking, storage, and system performance monitoring.
• Strong communication, customer service, and analytical troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing Ansible playbooks and automation workflows.
• Python scripting experience for systems administration.
• Familiarity with GPFS, PowerVC, VIOS, and VMware Aria.
• Experience with Power Systems firmware upgrades and NIM automation.
• Knowledge of AIX networking, NFS, SSH/SFTP, SUDO, and LDAP.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
