Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Join Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company (AIUC) as a standards lead for AI agents. This role is vital in shaping the AIUC-1 standard while driving insights and communications around major AI incidents.
We’re looking for candidates with 3-8 years of relevant experience, excellent writing skills, and a genuine curiosity about AI safety. You'll collaborate with leaders in the field and be part of a consortium that influences the future of AI regulation.
AIUC builds standards and insurance for frontier AI. Our mission is to Underwrite superintelligence. We exist because risk, not capability, is becoming the binding constraint on AI being useful. History offers lessons for how to build confidence in new technology; electricity burned down houses until insurers funded Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to certify products against their standards. Today, the UL mark is a trustmark on every light bulb in America. We’re building that for AI.

Today, the UL mark is a trustmark on every light bulb in America. We’re building that for AI. AIUC-1, our standard for agent security, serves frontier builders like Cursor, Lovable, ElevenLabs, and Harvey. We've raised $55m from Ribbit, First Harmonic and Nat Friedman to audit frontier AI. Our team comes from METR, Anthropic, McKinsey, and OpenAI. Come join us.
AI agents are being deployed into the economy faster than anyone has figured out how to hold them accountable. To unlock safe & secure adoption of agents in critical workflows, organizations need a way to validate what agents to trust. We are creating AIUC-1 to fill that gap, becoming the trustmark for AI agents.
You’ll sit at the center of AIUC-1, working with the organization and the AIUC-1 Consortium of 250+ Fortune 1000 leaders to decide what the standard says and why. When an agent fails publicly, you're the person who reads the incident report before anyone else at AIUC, has a sharp point of view within 24 hours, and decides what it means for our controls. When a new taxonomy of harm or a new regulatory framework lands, you're the one who translates it into a control enterprises can implement, and auditors can test.
This is a collaborative and high-agency role. There's no playbook for "standards lead for AI agents." You’ll work with colleagues to determine what matters most and execute through rigorous research, conversations with experts, and putting pen to paper.
