Job summary

Hermeus, a venture-backed defense aviation company, seeks an Airworthiness Manager to lead airworthiness planning, documentation, and certification for developmental and production aircraft. You will own the certification cradle-to-grave, coordinate with regulators, and work with engineering, manufacturing, and QA to ensure compliance on aggressive timelines.

Candidates should have a STEM degree, 6+ years airworthiness experience, MIL-HDBK 516 or Part 25 knowledge, and ability to obtain US

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (preferably Engineering in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems)
  • Minimum of 6 years of airworthiness experience in aviation/aerospace
  • Knowledge of MIL-HDBK 516 or 14 CFR Part 25
  • Experience in airworthiness management in military and civil aviation environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's airworthiness function, planning and executing all airworthiness, compliance, and certification activities
  • Develop and track certification basis and requirements for aircraft development
  • Develop and implement airworthiness strategies and procedures in line with regulations
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities and certification agencies to secure timely approvals
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, test, and quality assurance teams to meet regulatory standards
  • Manage airworthiness documentation and records meticulously
  • Provide training on airworthiness regulations to internal teams
  • Conduct airworthiness assessments and audits to address issues
