Support Airspace and Operational Planning
Serve as the key liaison between flight operations, exercise planners, and external bodies to support dynamic airspace and operational planning. As the Airspace Scheduler and Plans & Exercise Coordinator, enable efficient mission planning through expert scheduling, deconfliction, and coordination of military airspace and exercise activities.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and brief daily scheduling summaries for unit leadership.
- Complete documentation such as the 0-71 Initial Airspace Request and NTTR Weekly CSE Airspace Build.
- Update scheduling data based on changing conditions and mission objectives.
- Coordinate with OSS Plans & Exercises, OSS Airspace, outside agencies, and higher headquarters for large-scale exercises (e.g., RED FLAG, GREEN FLAG).
- Represent the 432 WG in special-use airspace meetings at Nellis AFB.
- Monitor and enforce airspace policy compliance and provide schedule updates.
- Serve as liaison for FAA COAs and generate monthly reports.
- Maintain scheduling updates and the daily SOF and Top 3 schedules.
- Assist in exercise tasking, scheduling, and approval processes.
- Track exercise participation and provide status updates.
- Notify units of upcoming exercises and logistics.
- Maintain briefing materials and support exercise planning.
- Finalize airspace scheduling at least 30 days prior to execution.
- Coordinate mission dependencies such as GCS access and load-outs.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and scheduling tools like PEX.
- Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience reviewing flow plans, policy compliance, and contingency management.
- Ability to operate in high-tempo environments with sensitive data.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in or with military operations.
- At least 2 years using PEX or 5 years with Microsoft Excel/Access.
- Completion of PEX Initial User Training or ISR Scheduling Training.
- Completion of GTIMS or CTOMS training within one year of hire.
- For 25% of the scheduling team: one year as NCOIC or experience as an RPA Squadron Flight Scheduler (2 years) or a DoD Flying Squadron Flight Scheduler (5 years).
Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
- Eligibility for SAP, NATO, and ACCM protocols.
