Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks qualified candidates for a security-focused role at the SV-F pay band. The position emphasizes safeguarding air travel, screening passengers and baggage, and operating imaging tools to detect threats at airports nationwide.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant security experience, with an additional year of specialized experience in aviation security.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC equivalency.
• At least one year of full-time work experience in security, aviation screener work, or X-ray technician work.
• One year of specialized experience in frontline security for air travelers, airports, or aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline security protection of air travelers, airports, and airplanes.
• Perform pat-down searches and operate an x-ray machine.
• Screen baggage and review tickets for security risk.
• Identify dangerous objects in passengers, baggage, or cargo and prevent their transport on aircraft.
• Use imaging and detection equipment to detect threats.
