Job summary

City of Charlotte Aviation Department is seeking a Security Operations Coordinator to safeguard passengers, employees and facilities at CLT. The role focuses on aviation security, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and customer service within airport operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This is an unarmed position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years relevant experience, or 2-year degree and 1 year relevant experience.
• Preference for Bachelor’s degree in aviation, criminal justice, airport management or related field.
• Experience with airport security, airport operations, or law enforcement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and adhere to 49 CFR Part 1542 and airport security procedures.
• Staff security access points and monitor entry requirements.
• Respond to airport emergencies and incidents per plan.
• Provide security services during events and train staff.
• Maintain logs, reports, and incident documentation.
