Job summary

Horizon Air, a subsidiary operating with Alaska Airlines, is seeking a Ramp & Customer Service Agent to support guests at the airport. The role covers above- and below-wing tasks, check-in, boarding, baggage handling and associated customer interactions in a fast-paced setting.

Starting at USD 18.27/hour with a 15–30 hour work week, weekend and holiday availability is required. A $2.25 split-shift differential applies on split shifts, bringing the effective rate to USD 20.52/hour.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state.
• Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system.
• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
• Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel.
• Depending on work location, ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with travel needs (inquiries, baggage, ticketing, checking-in, boarding).
• Work outdoors in weather while performing below-wing tasks (baggage handling, cargo loading, marshaling, pushback, deicing).
• Performs aircraft grooming and security searches.
• Boarding and gate duties including announcements and standby/upgrades processing.
• Process and secure guest luggage; maintain luggage claims including damaged/delayed items.
• Load/offload luggage and cargo using conveyor belts.
• May be assigned other duties to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
