Requirements and Description
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, service, guide, and direct customer aircraft.
- Safeguard customers' baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, and/or destruction.
- Lift, load/unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight, and company materials in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts safely.
- Operate pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure safety.
- Receive and record customer baggage, airfreight, mail, and company materials as required.
- Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft; prepare related records.
- Operate and/or drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers; or manually push and pull carts and containers.
- Complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments and enter data into the company's information system as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the skill and experience level for this position.
Qualifications- Must be a resident of the state.
- Valid In-State Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Ability to pass a background check up to 10 years.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States as per the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport security ID.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly; lift weights of 40-50 pounds on raised surfaces.
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Work in cramped or high places.
- Carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Over one year of relevant experience.
