Responsibilities
- Load, unload, service, guide, and direct customer aircraft.
- Safeguard customers' baggage, air cargo, and mail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.
- Lift, load/unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, airfreight, freight, and company materials in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts safely.
- Operate pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure safety.
- Receive and record customer baggage, airfreight, mail, and company materials as required.
- Transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft and prepare related records.
- Operate and/or drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers; or manually push and pull carts and containers.
- Complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments and enter data into the company's information system.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of skill and experience for this position.
Qualifications
- Must be a local (in-state) resident with a valid In-State Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check of up to 10 years.
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport security identification.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly, and lift weights of 40-50 pounds on raised surfaces.
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Capable of working in confined or elevated spaces and carrying heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
- High School diploma or GED; relevant experience of 1+ year preferred.
