Requirements and Description
This job involves working in a picture-in-picture mode (opens a new window). Additional options include liking, sharing, and adjusting settings such as quality and speed. The role is primarily focused on airport ground handling responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Loads, unloads, services, guides, and directs customer aircraft.
- Safeguards customers' baggage, air cargo, and mail from weather, loss, theft, damage, and destruction.
- Lifts, loads/unloads, sorts, and transfers passenger baggage, airmail, freight, and company materials in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts safely.
- Operates pushback equipment and maintains visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure safety.
- Receives and records customer baggage, airfreight, mail, and company materials.
- Transports cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, and prepares related records.
- Operates and/or drives motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, baggage carts, lavatory carts, and deicers; manually pushes and pulls carts and containers when needed.
- Completes paperwork and enters data into the company's information system as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of skills and experience.
Qualifications
- Must be a resident of the local state.
- Valid in-state driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to pass a background check up to 10 years.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. as per the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Complete ramp and SIDA training for airport security identification.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly, and lift 40-50 pounds on raised surfaces.
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Capable of working in confined or elevated spaces.
- Ability to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Over one year of relevant experience.
