Airport Ramp Agent (Avelo) - ROC (Finance)

General information

Job Title: Airport Ramp Agent (Avelo) - ROC

Date: Thursday, May 1, 2025

Location: Rochester, New York

Base Pay Rate: $15.50

Employment Type: Part Time

Position Status: Non-Exempt

Shift Schedule: Days of the week: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday; Shifts: A.M. and P.M.

Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, service, guide, and direct customer aircraft.
  • Safeguard customers' baggage, air cargo, and mail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.
  • Lift, load/unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight, and company materials safely.
  • Operate pushback equipment and maintain visual contact with Wing Walkers to ensure safety.
  • Record and receive customer baggage, airfreight, mail, and company materials.
  • Transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, and prepare related records.
  • Operate motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, and carts, or manually handle carts and containers.
  • Complete paperwork and data entry related to work assignments and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within skill and experience levels.
Qualifications
  • Must be an in-state resident.
  • Valid in-state driver's license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to pass a background check up to 10 years.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. under the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Completion of ramp and SIDA training for airport security ID.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly, and lift 40-50 pounds on raised surfaces.
  • Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
  • Capability to work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Ability to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Over 1 year of relevant experience.
