Job summary

The State of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Airport Programming Section, seeks an Airport Program Engineer (Civil Engineer Transportation - Advanced) to develop and manage the state airport improvement program and the federal Airport Capital Improvement Program. You will advise counties, municipalities, and aviation partners on funding and development strategies.

The role requires valid PE registration, ability to obtain Wisconsin PE within 3 months if licensed elsewhere,

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Must obtain Wisconsin PE within 3 months if the PE is from another state.
  • Experience with airport program development, scheduling, and funding requirements.
  • Experience communicating with municipalities, state and federal agencies, and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the state airport improvement program and the federal Airport Capital Improvement Program.
  • Provide consultation to county and municipal governments and aviation stakeholders on funding and development.
  • Analyze FAA reauthorization, regulations, and potential changes to state laws affecting airport funding.
  • Collaborate with WisDOT offices, municipalities, and partners to maximize benefits to Wisconsin airports.
