Job summary

City of Philadelphia – Office of Human Resources seeks an Airport Operations Superintendent to lead day-to-day operations across airfield, landside or terminal areas in a large hub environment. You will supervise staff, supervise contractors, and ensure compliance with FAA, TSA and other regulations while coordinating with airlines and tenants.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and several years of supervisory experience in airport operations or security, with preference

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, aviation management, flight management, commercial aviation, or closely related field.
• Three years of experience at the full performance level in airport operations, security or administration for a commercial service airport system servicing scheduled air carriers.
• Two years of supervisory experience at or above pay range N21 in airfield, airport communications, landside or terminal operations for a commercial service airport.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day airfield operational activities and ensure compliance with FAA/TSA regulations.
• Supervise and review the work of subordinate staff and contract personnel.
• Coordinate with airlines, tenants and agencies to maintain efficient airport operations and security.
