Regular schedule upon completion of training:This middle-shift position consists of two (2) 12-hour shifts and two (2) 8-hour shifts, including every other weekend, three (3) days off.The Airport Operations department is the centralized hub for monitoring, managing, coordinating, and communicating various services involving airport ground operations.Essential FunctionsProfessionally communicate and operate airport authority communication systems including public address system, multi-line telephone system, two-way radio system, in-house courtesy and emergency telephones.Monitor electronic access systems, and alarm monitoring systems to detect security breaches, fire and burglar alarms, and/or serious malfunctions.Prepare and maintain documentation to record details of activities and incidents. Maintain and protect confidential, sensitive security information and safeguard from disclosure.Monitor Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) and Field Condition Reports.Perform active surveillance of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and dispatch any security and/or safety concerns.Maintain situational awareness of other incidents or events which may potentially impact airport operations, including traffic, weather, emergencies, or planned events.Facilitate communication between the FAA Tower, Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), and airport police and fire units during emergencies. Answer and prioritize responses to airport & aircraft emergencies. Monitor counties and regional frequencies and broadcast information relevant to LNAA police/fire.Manage the integrity of the Airport security access points, through routine verification and documentation of door alarms, perform ID Badge deactivations, provide badge/key control for elevator/escalator & advertising service technicians, release and/or time open secure doors for passenger boarding and other operational matters and monitor, review & authorize access to secured areas to maintain compliance with the Airport Security Plan (ASP), 49 CFR Part 1542 and 14 CFR Part 139.Provide customer assistance in absence of badging personnel for mandatory SIDA / driver training after normal business hours.Receive, process, and manage lost and found property.Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.Additional ResponsibilitiesAssist customers with paging (PA system) services, flight information and related services. Answer terminal courtesy telephone system for customer assistance & information.Perform duties in compliance with policies and procedures and participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement program.Continually monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures and recommend improvements to department management.Participate in emergency and safety training and exercises.Serve as liaison to internal departments and outside agencies to ensure effective communication and use of facilities and services. Maintain working relationships with users and tenants and ensure customers receive a high level of service. Establish and maintain good working relationships with air carrier employees and agents.Act as after-hours point of contact for tenants, vendors, deliveries, etc.Provide structured on-the-job- training to employees under the guidance of the management.May represent the Department in a variety of projects, programs and activities with air carriers, terminal tenants, consultants, maintenance staff, guards, inspectors, and representatives from other agencies; assists department management with the development and administration of the annual operating budget.Additional duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED combined with a minimum three years’ experience (within the last five years) in an emergency communications center performing call taking and dispatch for law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services is preferred or an equivalent combination of training and experience operating multi-line telephone systems, two-way radio systems, electronic office equipment and computers as well as knowledge in the use of computer aided dispatch or task-specific data entry software, spreadsheets, word processors and databases.Familiarity with emergency management and the incident command system preferred.Successful certification in the following training within three (3) months of employment:FEMA ICS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS).FEMA ICS-200 Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response.FEMA ICS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction.FEMA ICS-800 National Response Framework, An Introduction.Successful certification in the following training within six (6) months of employment:Hazardous Materials Awareness.Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid.APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator I.Competence with computers, faxes, email, phone systems, and Internet.Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and other applicable computer programs. Able to accurately keyboard at 40 wpm.Strong written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Able to respond and perform in emergency situations and severe weather conditions.Possess a valid driver’s license.Must- Have RequirementsMust be at least 18 years old.Must wear uniforms provided (uniforms must be clean and presentable) and personal protective equipment.Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays when required, and a shift duration up to 16 hours or longer if necessary.Must maintain a valid driver’s license that meets insurance requirements.Successfully pass continual training, security and employment requirements.Must possess acceptable English language skills to include speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance; stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl.Must be able to use hands and fingers to type, handle bags, boxes, objects or controls.Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.Vision abilities include, with or without corrective lenses, close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Sufficient auditory ability, with or without audiological devices, to decipher telephone/radio communications, interact with the public and others, and hear alarms, including vehicle and other warning signals. Must be able to use a headset.Able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 90 decibels at times, hearing protection is provided and optional.Able to report to work during inclement/ adverse weather conditions.
