Job summary

SSP America is hiring a Utility/Dishwasher Worker in Sterling, VA to keep our restaurants clean and sanitized for guests and team members in a busy airport setting. You will clean surfaces, sanitize equipment, wash and load dishwashers, stock supplies, and assist servers and managers to ensure smooth service between seatings.

The role requires attention to safety, basic reading and speaking English, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in retail or food service.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and receive instructions.
• Experience in dealing with problems involving guest service.
• Food handlers permit, as required by law.
• Brand certification, as required.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (floors, ceilings, walls, etc.).
• Remove refuse to designated areas.
• Clear and reset tables between seatings and transport service-ware to kitchen.
• Scrape, wash, and load/unload dishes and return to storage.
• Clean equipment using chemicals to meet sanitary standards.
• Assist guests and communicate special needs to servers/supervisor.
• Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas.
• Stock, date, rotate, and check temperatures of food items.
• Other duties as assigned.
