Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is seeking an Industrial Controls Technician Apprentice at Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport. The program combines on‑the‑job training with classroom learning in a non‑career, term role within the Airport Maintenance Department.

You will learn to work with EMCS, BAS, and DCS systems, program microprocessors and VFDs, and to interpret schematics and vendor documentation while supporting the airport community and operations.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED at hire.
• Completion of at least one trades course in high school or current enrollment in a trades program.
• Eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Learn to maintain EMCS, BAS, and DCS systems including Siemens Apogee, Desigo and JACE devices.
• Assist in installing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing EMCS equipment and systems.
• Develop programming and setup skills for microprocessors and variable frequency drives (VFDs) used for pumps, motors, fans, and dampers.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining work orders and preventive maintenance records.
