Job summary

City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a maintenance worker to uphold landscaping at airport terminals and surrounding areas. The role reports to Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and may require work at multiple county airports, including weekends.

Flexibility for emergencies and night shifts is expected. Primary duties include general maintenance, operation of maintenance tools, and adherence to OSHA/FAA/TSA training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of practical training and experience in performing general maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of airport building maintenance, repairs and painting.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of airport buildings and ground maintenance.
• Use a variety of mechanic and building repair tools and equipment.
• May utilize lawn care tools and equipment.
• Communicate on 800 MHz radio.
• Work in all weather conditions or airport emergencies as needed.
• OSHA, FAA, TSA rules and regulations training mandatory.
• Flexible availability for airport emergency staffing; provide detailed availability information.
• May require night/weekend work.
• Follow county and department policies regarding absences and paid leave.
• Perform other related duties as required/assigned.
