Job summary

The Cocktail Server at HMSHost near San Jose Airport is responsible for taking food and beverage orders, entering orders quickly, and serving guests in their section while coordinating with the kitchen to ensure timely, high-quality service. This non-exempt position typically reports to the Store Manager or General Manager depending on local requirements.

Minimum qualifications include meeting state age requirements for alcohol, at least 6 months serving experience, the ability to lift up to 20

• Must meet state age for serving alcohol.
• At least 6 months of similar serving experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Strong customer service and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes food and beverage orders, places and delivers orders, and checks back with guests.
• Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, and removing clutter.
• Presents check and handles payment and change as needed.
• Follows HMSHost customer service, beverage, and cash handling policies.
• Keeps station clean, sets up and tidies station tables.
