Job description

Supervisors assist in communicating policies and procedures within their operation. They direct and coordinate activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee. The “Lead by Example” concept is strongly promoted.

Supervisors must report to work on a regular and timely basis and will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Ensure employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance, and personnel protective equipment policies (safety toe shoes, uniform cleanliness, and jewelry).

Works in conjunction with the team and remains within the footprint of each assigned flight to oversee the safe and timely operation.

Job Duties

1. Delegate and assign daily flight responsibilities among warehouse team members.
2. Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
3. Conduct appropriate operational/safety briefings on pre-arrival/departure for each flight; ensure warehouse setup and preparation is performed.
4. Follow and enforce all airline standard operating procedures.
5. Ensure aircraft is loaded in accordance with operational instruction.
6. Ensure hearing protection is on hand for each flight and safety vests are worn in all areas requiring PPE.
7. Ensure foreign object debris walks are performed accordingly.
8. Schedule manpower for rotations.
9. Report all aircraft issues to the flight crew.
10. Generate and send out Intelex (Safety Management System – SMS) reports within 3 hours of occurrence.
11. Complete DFR’s, catering logs, and temperature logs for refrigeration and catering containers.
12. Coordinate the release of catering, bond, and commissary requirements for each flight; follow all airline SOP in accordance with training.
13. Delegate job duties as required and ensure completion.
14. Able to work as a team or independently without direct supervision.
15. Notify the Operations Manager of any changes to the operation.
16. Adhere to all policies and follow established procedures.
17. Participate in required meetings providing input and recommendations.
18. Provide assistance with ongoing training and support to all staff.
19. Coordinate and oversee aircraft turnaround activities.
20. Ensure that processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements.
21. Responsible for the safety and security of all employees.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Supervisory experience (minimum 2 years).
2. Be at least 18 years of age.
3. Possess a valid driver’s license.
4. Ability to work on a permanent basis in Canada.
5. Obtain a clear criminal record.
6. Must obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances.
7. Must obtain the necessary airport vehicle operator permit.
8. Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 70lbs on a regular basis.
9. Ability to work within the required time parameters.
10. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
11. Must successfully complete airline and corporate-specific training program and recertification.
