ABM is seeking a Baggage Handler to assist airline passengers with the handling, processing, and transportation of luggage at the airport. You will meet arrivals, assist at baggage claim, and help load and unload baggage onto the handling system.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport passenger luggage as directed.
• Assist with oversized or unusually shaped luggage (skis, kennels, strollers).
• Ensure luggage is placed safely on the baggage handling system.
• Follow airport and government policies and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, co-workers, and security personnel.
• Determine flight departure times and connecting carriers from tickets.
• Screen transferring passengers before returning baggage belts.
• Verify baggage tags for accuracy.
• Assist passengers with short-checked bags as needed.
• Handle misplaced baggage and report to carriers.
• Assess baggage needs across airline locations.
• Comply with client/site security requirements and processes.
• Coordinate assignments with dispatchers and gate agents as needed.
• Complete thorough incident reports.
