Job summary

Apple's AirPlay Audio team in San Diego seeks an expert developer in media networking to push the boundaries of audio distribution across iPhone, Mac, iPad, HomePod, Apple TV and AirPlay speakers for billions of devices. You will own technologies that enable immersive sonic experiences and scalable distribution.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment.
• Experience with congestion control algorithms and techniques.
• C or C++ - Multithreading and System Software.
• Low-level systems debugging and performance profiling experience.
• Ability to independently drive complex end-to-end investigations.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and maintain these protocols in AirPlay Audio’s ecosystem.
• Scale synchronized playback groups to support growing numbers of simultaneous devices.
• Strategize with Networking, WiFi, Hardware and other cross-functional partners on achieve best possible performance and reliability.
• Work with Test and Quality Engineering to ensure highest quality of deliverables.
• Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency and processes of the team.
