Job summary

Flying Food Group in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Cook to join our airline catering team. This role will prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards and operate within established policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include leading hot food production for airline and fresh meal programs, ensuring compliance with specifications and hygiene, assisting in scheduling and cost control, and coaching staff.

Qualifications

• 5 years cook experience with at least 2 years as Lead Cook in high-volume airline catering.
• Experience with multi-airlines international customers preferred.
• Experience in Kosher food preparation/cooking.
• Ability to lead & supervise employees.
• Must read, speak and write English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facets of daily hot food production for airlines and fresh meals.
• Ensure compliance with airline specs and food handling procedures.
• Assist in scheduling, hours control, and food cost management.
• Assist in development and training of staff.
• Maintain positive inter-department relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Cook to join our dynamic team! This position prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations with established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for all facets of daily hot food production including presentations for airlines and fresh meal preparation.
• Ensure compliance with airline and fresh meal specifications, personal hygiene & food handling procedures.
• Assist in departmental scheduling and control of hours and food cost.
• Assist in the development and training of employees.
• Assist in maintaining a good relationship between the departments.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• 5 years Cook experience with a minimum of 2 years as a Lead Cook in a high-volume cooking institution/airline catering, or food catering industry.
• Experience with multi-airlines international customers preferred.
• Experience in Kosher food preparation/cooking
• Ability to lead & supervise employees
• Ability to read, speak and write English

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has non-supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a professional kitchen. This role routinely uses kitchen equipment.
