Job summary

Amentum is seeking a qualified professional to oversee the AMOPS section as the on-duty designee, ensuring a safe and efficient airfield environment for aircraft operations. You will conduct airfield inspections, enforce safety procedures, and coordinate with maintenance and aircrew teams.

The role requires DoD/airfield management training and several years of aviation-related experience, including coordination between aviation personnel, flight plan processing, weather analysis, and wildlife

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course or equivalent and aviation related experience as aircrew/dispatcher/flight follower with a 14 CFR Part 121 or 14 CFR Part 135 operator.
• Four (4) years of experience to include supervision and coordination between air-traffic control and maintenance personnel, dispatching and enforcing airfield safety procedures, monitoring flight records, weather information, and flight plan processing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain situational awareness of airfield activities and oversee AMOPS section on duty to ensure safe, efficient airfield operations.
• Plan, organize, and direct airfield activities including construction/repairs, driving program, ice/snow removal, Bird/Wildlife control, and related tasks.
• Procure, maintain, and provide information on safe aircraft operation and airspace system status, NOTAMs, weather information, and flight plans.
• Coordinate with base agencies to meet aircrew requirements for billeting, messing, refueling, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.
