Job summary

Textron Aviation is offering a ten-week, full-time internship in Wichita that lets you work on authoring and illustrating aircraft technical manuals, supporting operation and maintenance procedures, and ensuring compliance with design specifications.

You will use Adobe FrameMaker and CATIA for verification, collaborate with engineers and customers, and gain hands-on experience in documentation, certification, and regulatory requirements while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation or related field
• Familiar with Military, FAA Regulations, and Aviation Industry specifications and guidelines
• Experience using FrameMaker and SGML/HTML/XML preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering research, development, and certification requirements for authoring/illustrating new and sustaining model technical publications
• Use Adobe FrameMaker to produce detailed procedures for operation and maintenance of aircraft systems
• Ensure data conform to design specifications and regulatory requirements related to technical orders
• Verify content accuracy by collaborating with design engineers, project teams and customer service representatives in certification/verification activities
• Collaborate with design engineers, project teams and customer service representatives
• Validate technical document procedures via virtual (CATIA) and on-aircraft validations of parts, assemblies, and installations
