Job summary

Flexjet in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking an Aircraft Structures Technician to join our in-house sheet metal team. You will layout, fabricate, assemble, mate, install and repair aircraft structures and assemblies, and read blueprints to determine methods and sequence.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of heavy structural experience; an A&P certificate is desirable but not required. Strong communication, teamwork, and planning skills, plus MS Office proficiency, are important; ability to pass background

Qualifications

• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate desired, not required.
• Minimum of three (3) years heavy structural experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience with various types of aircraft, power plant maintenance and inspections.
• Working knowledge of rigging and installation of operating mechanisms structures, assemblies and parts, related systems and equipment, and assembly shop practices.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Computer experience in Microsoft Office software products.
• Ability to pass background check and achieve airport badge.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabricate, assemble, mate, install, check or troubleshoot and repair production and prototype aircraft structures, parts and mechanical assemblies.
• Read and interpret information from mechanical/structural drawings, blueprints, process specifications and diagrams to determine methods and sequence of operations.
• Layout coordinated hole patterns, cutouts, trim lines and assembly locations using precision instruments.
• Assemble and mate aircraft parts and assemblies; attach parts using riveting and hand/power tools.
• Drill, route, ream, countersink, spot-face and counter bore parts; modify or rebuild parts per engineering changes.
• Modify aircraft structure, installation and mechanical systems per engineering requirements; perform developmental work on experimental assemblies.
• Present a clean and neat work area to customers.
