Job summary

SelectTech Services Corp is seeking an Aircraft Structures Technician in Colorado Springs to assemble and align major structures and perform precision fitting on aerospace components. You will measure parts with micrometers/calipers, align to drawings, and ensure quality per control procedures.

The role requires 5–10 years of depot-level experience on large aircraft, ability to read schematics, and teamwork or independent work style in a fast-paced environment. A Secret clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• 5-10 years’ experience performing depot level structural installations/repairs on large military cargo aircraft or commercial equivalents.
• Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
• Progressive experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal/prevention, as applicable
• Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
• May require certain certifications in field.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience operating within an AS9100 Quality Management System.
• Effective communication skills in a fast paced, complex manufacturing environment
• Able to work as a part of a team or alone depending on complexity of installation.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant License, preferred, but not required.
• Relevant prior military service working on C-130 variant airframes.
• Solid judgement and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
• Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
• Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures and measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• Modify incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporate the changes into the structure.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

As the Aircraft Structures Technician at SelectTech, you will be using your skills and expertise to assemble and/or create major assembly structures and minor part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
