Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Aircraft Structures Mechanic 1 at Whiteman AFB, MO to join the B-2 modification team. The role involves locating parts, drilling metals, and installing brackets and structural components on the bomber.

An active Secret clearance is preferred, with a clearance request possible for the selected candidate. Shifts may include 1st, 2nd, and overtime as needed; the environment is classified and devices are restricted.

Qualifications

Are you ready to put your experience to work? If so, Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Aircraft Structures Mechanic 1. The selected candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and will be supporting the B-2 modification team at Whiteman AFB, Mo. The selected candidate will be trained to perform a variety of operations such as locating parts, drilling various types of metals, installing brackets and structural components. Your skills will be enhanced with specific aircraft structures coursework, on the job training, and certifications to perform work on the B-2 Bomber. This is an entry level position and requires a security clearance, so an active clearance is preferred, but a clearance request will be submitted for the selected candidate if necessary. The nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working in a classified environment; cell phones and personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

Job Description

Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance (U. S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Secret clearance is required prior to starting.
• Must be able to obtain required Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
• Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working overhead
• Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
• The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam
• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays to support modification team work

The selected candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on business needs, including, but not limited to: 1st shift 0630 – 1500, 2nd shift 1430 – 2300 and overtime when required.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years

Primary Level Salary Range: $35,500.00 - $59,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
