Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks an Aircraft Structural Repairer to inspect, service, and repair structural components on aircraft, ensuring readiness for training, rescue, humanitarian, security, or combat missions.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Soldiers earn a monthly paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance, with benefits such as Montgomery GI Bill and health care coverage.

Qualifications

• Mathematics and shop mechanics aptitude preferred.
• Experience using hand and power tools is beneficial.
• Basic aptitude for metal forming and fiberglass materials is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Repair/replace aircraft structural components according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
• Fabricate structural parts using metal-forming techniques and fiberglass materials.
• Make repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures.
• Balance fixed-wing aircraft controls and apply primers/paints on aircraft surfaces.
• Maintain facilities for storage of flammable/hazardous materials.
