Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring an Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician Level 2 located in Melbourne, Florida. Relocation assistance is not available. A secret clearance is required, but no clearance is required to start. The role is scheduled as 1st shift, Monday‑Thursday, 6am‑4:30pm (4‑10 schedule). You will be expected to travel 10% of the time.

Essential Functions

• Use a variety of fabrication hand tools and precision measuring instruments to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, work instructions, both written and verbal.
• Operate various fabrication equipment, such as shear, sheet metal brake, rollers, grinders, and presses.
• Learn and perform other job functions with on‑the‑job training when required.
• Apply mechanical aptitude and think through problems involving forming.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance within a reasonable amount of time; not required to start.
• Ability to follow written, electronic, and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Read and understand blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of flat‑pattern layout and sheet metal fabrication.

Salary & Benefits

Primary level salary range: $44,400.00 – $74,000.00. Pay is based on the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and market conditions. Depending on the role, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
