Job Description

Our Aerospace Manufacturing Client is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join their Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL.

The Quality Inspector will perform all defined Quality Inspections up to product delivery. Responsibilities include identifying deviations in products, equipment, and tools, and verifying that the environment, facilities, hardware, and tools meet operational and safety standards.

  • Contribute to investigations and root cause analysis of quality issues from the business team and customer, ensuring appropriate containment, corrective, and curative actions are taken by the responsible teams.
  • Perform Quality Inspections according to defined standards, including Final Check, Attestation, Stop Points, Out of sequence work, and critical activities.
  • Ensure operational surveillance of people, products, and processes.
  • Provide feedback and coaching on Quality issues and observations to Operations and Support Functions.
  • Inspect, attest, and conduct surveillance of work orders when delegated.
  • Optimize inspection activities, respond swiftly to quality issues, participate in process improvements, investigations, and root cause analysis, prevent foreign object damage, and manage non-conformities.
  • Carry out predictive quality activities and coaching to operations.
  • Be the go-to person on the shop floor for Quality issues, conducting inspections, attestations, and surveillance to prevent FOD and manage non-conformities.
  • Engage in continuous improvement, prediction, and coaching activities.
  • Maintain awareness of compliance risks and act with integrity to uphold the company's reputation and sustainable growth.
Additional Information

This position is temporary (contract) with no fixed duration but may be extended or shortened as needed.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in an aviation company, focusing on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
  • Preferred experience as a Quality Inspector.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Understanding of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
  • Familiarity with production line practices, tools, and measurement techniques (mechanical, electrical).
  • Relevant airline/aviation experience is desirable.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License, including inspection authorization, preferred.
