Job summary

Summit Employment Professionals is seeking a Quality Control Inspector (I/II) for our aerospace manufacturing partner in Kansas. You will perform first article inspections and in-process checks to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and customer specifications.

Responsibilities include using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs to verify part geometry, documenting results, and communicating with internal customers. First shift, typical schedule.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using precision measurement tools and inspection methods.
• Familiar with AS9100/QMS requirements and quality systems.
• Ability to read Engineering drawings/models and understand tolerances.
• Experience with surface finish, edge preparation and part appearance.
• Knowledge of outside processing certifications and CAD/CAM basics.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections on machined parts using micrometers, calipers and other devices per AS9100.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts from first piece to final inspection.
• Utilize gauges and CMMs; ensure traceability and documentation of results.
• Communicate inspection results with internal customers and resolve issues.
• Follow shop procedures to accept or reject parts and assemblies; perform miscellaneous tasks.

Job Description

Quality Control Inspector (I/II) is responsible for a wide range of inspection functions supporting manufacturing assembly and machining operations. Support all internal inspection processes using quality standards to perform quality functions.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of two years’ experience in an aerospace or manufacturing
• Experience in Assembly, Sheet Metal, or CNC Machine process

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools/equipment including but not limited to caliper, micrometer, height gage, hardness and conductivity.
• Familiar with surface finish, edge preparation and general appearance of machined parts.
• Familiar with outside processing certifications
• Knowledgeable of Engineering drawings/models
• Computer literate
• Basic knowledge of CATIA
• Basic understanding of a CMM
• Basic understanding of CNC machining
• Familiar with AS9100/QMS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform first article inspections on machined parts using micrometers, calipers and other measurement devices while working in compliance with AS9100 standards.
• Conduct inspection of finished machined parts, include in-process from first piece to final inspection.
• Working knowledge of conventional inspections tools and gauges such as: Micrometers, Calipers, thread gauges
• Communicates with internal customers
• Follow inspection (shop) procedures to accept or reject parts and assemblies, etc.
• Assembly Inspection
• Miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Shifts:

• First Shift: Mon. - Fri., 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
