Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Quality Control Inspector at our East Alton, IL facility to uphold FAA-compliant quality standards. You will inspect aircraft technicians’ work, perform ok-to-close, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure clean sign-offs and timely disposition of airframe squawks.

Ideal candidates have an A&P or Repairman certificate, IA recommended, and a strong knowledge of FAA regulations. On-site role with comprehensive benefits and yearly incentives.

Qualifications

• Familiar with FAA regulations.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain West Star Aviation’s quality standards by inspecting technician’s work, performing “ok to close”, and auditing.
• Ensure proper sign-offs in Corridor as part of the inspection process.
• Participate in daily review meetings.
• Assist with Airframe Inspections
• Following up with all departments to get steps signed off, inspected, and closed so airframe squawks can be completed.
• Help manage Equipment Removal and Installation Log.
• Assist QA Department with log research issues to help clear items that are in question.
• Daily contact at aircraft with Team Leaders to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain customer oriented work habits.
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

A&P License or Repairman Certificate

Inspection Authorization (IA) recommended

Valid driver’s license and/or passport
