Job description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC/FUELS SYSTEM MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0097000, and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.

This technician position serves as a Pneudraulic System Mechanic within a fuel systems shop, responsible for inspection, repair, and maintenance of aircraft fuel cells, water injection, antidetonant (ADI), and inflight refueling systems.

Military Grades: E-3 thru E-5

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below.

3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and a description of the specialized experience.

You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:

  1. Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles.
  2. Fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines.
  3. Servicing, maintaining, disassembling, assembling, repairing, and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  4. Diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts.
  5. Diagnosing trouble and determining remedies.
  6. Repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  7. Mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment.
  8. Interpreting technical manuals, specifications, and publications.

Relocation and Recruitment Incentives

Eligibility:

  • Recruitment: Newly appointed employees or those following a break in service of at least 90 days.
  • Relocation: Current employees who relocate to accept a position in a new geographic area. Eligibility for a relocation incentive requires an appraisal from the prior position of 3 or higher.

Payments: Up to 25% of the annual rate of basic pay (including locality pay/special rate supplement), multiplied by the number of years (and fractions) covered by the service agreement. Subject to the availability of funds and approval by TAG.
