Job summary

Tyonek Native Corporation seeks an aircraft painter for a depot-level repair facility in California. Duties include preparing aircraft and components, applying coatings and insignias, and masking to protect surfaces. Must have 4+ years of paint experience, military decal experience, and the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Preference for heavy-structure or fixed-wing background. Must be a US citizen with capability for post-offer, pre-employment drug testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years aircraft painter experience.
• Military decal and painting experience required.
• Experience from military fixed wing community or civilian heavy structure background preferred.
• Experience in heavy structure U.S. Military or related FAA or civil aviation.
• US Citizen; ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble staging, scaffolds and work stands for the paint shop operations.
• Prepare aircraft, engines, and components for finish using chemicals, detergents, and solvents with steam/water.
• Apply coatings, decals, insignias, and designs to aircraft and parts; work with various coating materials.
• Prepare substrates using pretreatment methods and mask surfaces to protect unpainted areas.
• Operate and maintain conventional, electrostatic, HVLP paint equipment; mix primers, sealers, topcoats.
• Perform quality checks with gauges to measure thickness, viscosity, and gloss.
