Aircraft Painter I in GAC St. Louis

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

Note: This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus!

Must be able to work from a scissor lift and wear fall restraint.

The compensation range for this role is $24.26 - $28.31 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors including qualifications, skills, education, experience, and location.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of painting experience.

Position Purpose

The Aircraft Painter I prepares aircraft for painting, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft for paint.
  2. Apply glazing and sealing compounds for final painting.
  3. Operate and maintain painting equipment, mix paints and primers.
  4. Perform sealant work on leading edges.
  5. Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using PPE and protecting aircraft interiors.

Additional Functions:

  1. Maintain shop equipment and tools.
  2. Follow paint shop practices.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  • Pass Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification.
  • Use tools and work in small spaces, climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, work any shift.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, acrylics).
