Aircraft Painter I in GAC St. Louis

Must be able to work from a scissor lift and wear fall restraint equipment.

The compensation range for this role is $24.26 - $28.31 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as qualifications, skills, education, experience, and location.

Position Purpose

The Aircraft Painter I prepares aircraft for painting, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

1. Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft surfaces for painting.
2. Apply glazing and sealing compounds for final painting preparation.
3. Operate and maintain painting preparation and priming equipment; mix paints and primers.
4. Perform sealant work on leading edges in final detailing.
5. Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment and protect aircraft interiors.

Additional Functions:

1. Maintain shop equipment and tools.
2. Follow paint shop standards and procedures.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
• Pass a Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification.
• Use tools and equipment; climb ladders and stairs; perform close tolerance work; lift up to 40 pounds; work any shift.
• Computer literacy required.
• Knowledge of paint processes and products such as lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics.
