Job summary

Bell Piney Flats Aircraft Paint Team is seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter to refinish helicopters and parts at Piney Flats, TN. You will join a hands-on team, applying primers and paints, performing surface prep, and maintaining safety and PPE protocols.

The role requires 2+ years in relevant painting, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work a 4x10 schedule with overtime as needed. Join a culture focused on innovation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in aircraft/body refinishing, aircraft painting, industrial painting/refinishing, or related area.
• Ability to work 4x10 day shifts and tolerate overtime.
• Expertise in surface preparation and sealant/proseal.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Team-oriented mindset and good collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sand, mask, and buff aircraft and/or parts for paint under supervision.
• Mix, apply, and smooth cosmetic fillers with supervision.
• Mix and spray aircraft with supervision.
• Spray primer and paint interiors and parts (including cowlings).
• May clear coat aircraft parts (cowlings) and belly with supervision.
• Maintain inventory of hazardous items.
• Properly use PPE, including respirator and PPE for hazardous materials.

Bell Piney Flats Aircraft Paint Team

Come join the Bell Piney Flats Aircraft Paint department and help ensure best in class service to our customers. In this position, you’ll be an integral part of the Paint team, working with others to refinish helicopters and helicopter parts. As an Aircraft Painter, you’ll have an opportunity to demonstrate and grow your technical abilities and advance your skills with practical, hands‑on experience.

What you’ll be doing as an Aircraft Painter (Experienced)

• Clean, sand, mask, and buff aircraft and/or aircraft parts for paint with supervision.
• Mix, apply, and smooth cosmetic fillers with supervision.
• Mix and spray aircraft with supervision.
• Spray primer and paint aircraft interiors and parts (including cowlings).
• May clear coat aircraft parts (to include cowlings) and aircraft belly with supervision.
• Maintain inventory of hazardous items.
• Properly use PPE as required, to include respirator, and PPE for hazardous materials.

Skills You Bring To this Role

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years experience with auto body refinishing, aircraft painting, industrial painting/refinishing, and/or other related area.
• Ability to work assigned schedule (4x10 day shift), and overtime when assigned.
• Expertise in surface preparation, and sealant/proseal.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
• Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.
• Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.
• Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
