Job summary

JSfirm.com is seeking an Aircraft Painter, Paint Technician for a 6-month contract in Greenville, SC. The role covers applying aircraft markings, preparing surfaces, and painting with appropriate tools, while maintaining equipment and a clean workspace in an aerospace setting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of aircraft painting experience, preferably including C-130 work. Post-offer medical, PPE use, and respirator certification are required; 1st shift is 5:30am–4:00pm, 4x10s.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of aircraft-specific paint experience.
• C-130 paint experience preferred but not required.
• Respirator certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret markings drawings to apply interior and exterior aircraft markings and decals.
• Prepare surfaces by washing, cleaning, sanding, and masking for painting.
• Use grinders, sanders, paint guns and measuring devices to paint surfaces and components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment for sustained performance.
• Work safely with PPE in a clean, FOD-free area; follow safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Duration: 6 months
Shift: 1st shift 5:30am-4:00PM 4x10A

As the Aircraft Painter, Paint Technician you will be responsible for a variety of essential job functions, such as:

• Interpret marking drawings to accurately apply both major and minor interior/exterior aircraft markings and decals.
• Prepare aircraft surfaces by washing, cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure they are free from contaminants and ready for high-quality painting.
• Utilize various tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices to prepare and paint aircraft surfaces, parts, and components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment to ensure its operational effectiveness and longevity within the aerospace industry.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, Foreign Object Debris (FOD)-free work area.
• Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Candidates must complete a post-offer medical exam prior to the start.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective
• Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
• Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive movements and work overhead.
• Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks.
• The employee is regularly exposed to vibration.
