What you can expect as an Aircraft Paint Technician at West Star:

As a Paint Technician, you will have the opportunity to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Our technicians can paint everything from standard stripes and colors to highly detailed artwork. If you have a creative edge and enjoy working with your hands, this is the position for you. The role is staffed by two painters and covers our Teterboro, NJ, and White Plains, NY Service Hubs, seven days a week. Additionally, you will assist the maintenance staff when no painting is scheduled.

You will be essential to many functions, including:

• Proficient in spraying techniques and customizing chemical formulas to address environmental challenges and various substrates.
• Performing duties in compliance with FAA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
• Preparing aircraft surfaces with chemical stripping and sanding on substrates such as aluminum, composite, steel, and stainless steel.
• Proficient in tape masking and occasionally using body filler products and sanding techniques.
• Completing aircraft paint detailing.
• Traveling to offsite locations as needed.
• Communicating effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
