Position: Aircraft Mechanic I

Reports to: Lead Mechanic

Location: Aviation Operations Center (AOC), Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas

The Aircraft Mechanic I supports customer flight operations, maintenance, repairs, and modifications under FARs and a Part 145 Repair Station. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing aircraft maintenance, repairs, and modifications, including logbook entries and aircraft release for return to service.
  2. Maintaining aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty.
  3. Applying technical knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to troubleshoot malfunctions.
  4. Leading or assisting in complex projects and prioritizing schedules.
  5. Traveling up to 50% to various locations as needed.
  6. Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; technical/trade school, military, or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an A&P mechanic, with at least 3 years on specific aircraft types (preferred).
  • Knowledge of FARs and troubleshooting procedures.
Skills and Attributes
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Owns sufficient hand tools for A&P duties.
  • Ability to obtain a DOJ Security Clearance.
  • Valid US Passport, vaccinations for international travel, and driver's license.
  • Thorough troubleshooting and repair skills, basic electrical knowledge.
  • Experience with rotor & propeller track and balance equipment.
  • Familiarity with technical publications and aircraft logs.
  • Leadership ability for complex tasks and team guidance.
Physical & Work Environment

Must perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and working in various environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Personal protective equipment is required when hazards are present.
