Job summary

Tradewind Aviation is seeking a licensed A&P Aircraft Mechanic to support our Oxford, CT base on the night shift. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, troubleshoot systems, and ensure compliance with FAA safety standards.

You will read technical manuals, document work, and collaborate with a team to keep the fleet operating reliably while adhering to company policies. Weekend/holiday work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Licensed A&P mechanic
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
• Strong reading and interpretation of technical manuals
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication
• Willingness to travel and work non-standard hours

Responsibilities

• Perform airframe and powerplant maintenance on Pilatus PC-12, NGX and newer models
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Inspect aircraft and maintain detailed maintenance logs per FAA regulations
• Travel to training or service sites as required

The A&P Mechanic will use their troubleshooting, diagnostic, and mechanical skills to maintain, inspect, and overhaul aircraft engines, complex systems, and structural airframe components. The ideal A&P Aircraft Mechanic is detail-oriented, has strong and diverse troubleshooting and mechanical skills, is always safety-conscious, and enjoys continuously learning and improving their skills as well as sharing their knowledge with others. Must be flexible with work schedules as business needs require and be able to work on weekends and holidays.Essential Functions:• Licensed technician on second shift, handling scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with limited oversight• Perform all airframe and powerplant scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on our fleet of turboprop aircraft to ensure operational reliability and on-time completion• Continuously adhere to and ensure all work performed meets all Company safe work practices, FAA safety standards, and applicable operational regulations• Read, interpret, apply and perform technical manual instructions• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic system malfunctions using industry standard methods and diagnostic equipment• Perform detailed inspections of aircraft• Remove worn or defective parts and install new or repaired components• Maintain precise records and logs of all maintenance work performed, adhering to FAA regulations• Perform maintenance and repairs on hangar equipment• Ability to arrive and be ready to work on time.• Perform other assigned duties as assignedRequirementsRequired Qualifications:• Licensed A&P mechanic• Experience with or ability to understand and learn to diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all Pilatus PC-12, NGX, and newer models as added to Tradewind’s fleet• Ability to read and interpret technical manual information, and apply and perform technical instructions• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills• Valid US Driver’s License + Clean Driving Record• Valid passport without travel restrictions• Eagerness to learn and willingness to train.• Maintain an adequate personal set of tools.• Must be willing and able to travel to various parts of the United States, Caribbean, and Canada for periods of days to weeks as required for training, repairs or other business needs.• Must successfully pass all required pre-employment screenings, including DOT and criminal background checks, in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.Physical Requirements:• Brief or prolonged periods of various physical stamina and dexterity as repair assignments require, including stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, push, pull, grip, pinch• Must be able to lift 75lbs• Work in confined spaces• Work under pressure including but not limited to multiple urgent priorities, unanticipated complications or delays, and meeting deadlines• Work may be performed in a maintenance hangar with the door open or closed, or outdoors on a tarmac, with exposure to all seasonal weather elements of varying heat, cold, wind and precipitationBenefits:• Competitive salary• Medical dental, vision, FSA/DCA and 401(k) plan.• Paid vacation and sick days• Paid Maternity/Paternity Leave• Fun, dynamic team with opportunities for rapid advancement• Travel benefits on various US and International airlines
