Job description

Responsible for inspecting, training personnel, and performing organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance/modification on contract units, sub-systems, support equipment, and related weapons systems. Advises team members and solves unusual maintenance problems by analyzing and testing engines, pneudraulic, fuel, electrical/electronic systems, etc. Reports to the Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power units, ground support equipment, ventilation, and heating systems. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and components using hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  2. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds equipment and engine components, fuel systems, and functional components.
  3. Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and engineering data to determine repair methods.
  4. Diagnoses malfunctions, isolates causes, and corrects issues.
  5. Performs various inspections, examines engines for leaks, cracks, corrosion, and other damages.
  6. Replaces and repairs damaged components, using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
  7. Inspects jet engine turbine blades for defects and tests engine operation with specialized equipment.
  8. Replaces or repairs engine parts, removes and reinstalls engines as needed.
  9. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring and aircraft accessories; performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections.
  10. Maintains aircraft systems, including instruments, electrical/electronics, fuel/oil systems, and accessories.
  11. Supervises aircraft jacking and towing; maintains maintenance records; services engines and airframe components; may specialize in structural, precision, or engine repair.
  12. Adheres to all customer and company policies and procedures.
  13. May require FAA licensing.
